Your missions :

Location: Lenexa, KS

Job Summary and Purpose:

The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Business Partner will provide injury treatment and rehabilitation while developing and implementing health and safety programs. The EHS business partner position will be responsible for development of compliant health and safety programs at a vaccine manufacturing facility based in Lenexa, Kansas. This includes integration of environmental, health, and safety programs into daily operations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:

* Control and ensure that the site EHS road map and corporate EHS standards are applied and employees are working in safe status. Perform internal site audits against all applicable standards. Support and assist in re-writing SOPs and ensure validation of SOPs. Provide regular feedback to site management. Support other leaders to deploy the EHS strategy and improve EHS performance. Define EHS governance at site level to ensure EHS road map implementation and tracking.

* Lead regulatory inspections related to EHS and ensure inspection readiness at all times to prevent fines and judgements. Lead internal and external discussions and meetings with auditors, regulatory agencies, and consultants. Conduct regular review of existing regulations and compare to ongoing site activities. Ensure relationships with regulatory agencies. Ensure that SOP are correctly applied, updated and compliant to local regulation. Provide regular feedback to site management and EHS director. Execute, complete, and submit regulatory reports, submissions, notifications, etc independently. Maintain compliance with recordkeeping requirements defined by regulatory agencies and internal company policy.

* Act as a role model, lead by example. Promote safety behaviors and mindsets. Ensure assigned focus factories and departments complete all relevant site training requirements. Ensure deployment and completion of HSE related training to training schedule for campus. Measure completion of EHS training. Assist in implementation of corrective actions and best practices from global network. Actively participate in Tiers meetings.

* Investigate, report, and build concise summaries of incidents resulting in injury, environmental, and OH incidents. Track investigations to closure requiring root causes and CAPA Plans. Ensure CAPAs are closed on time and work with departments to set reasonable expectations for closure dates. Review and escalate any concerning trends. Lead site and global programs to assist in incident reduction. Complete required notifications and ensure KPIs are completed accurately at a site level.

* Ensure that SOPs, signs, visual management is correctly updated at shopfloor level. Push for pro-active safety at shopfloor level with near-miss / dangerous situation tracking. Write and review processes, facilities, procedures and management of change documents to assure conformance with EHS standards. Validate SOPs, audit processes against existing SOPs, and provide regular feedback to management.

* Propose cost related optimization ideas. Participate in building the budget. Analyze variances and report them. Ensure implementation of all action plans related to budget.

* Communicate EHS performance throughout the site and develop appropriate performance metrics. Identify and execute cross sectional improvements to promote continuous improvement.

Technical / Functional Competencies:

* Advanced knowledge of EHS laws and best practices

* Previous project management experience.

* First Aid/CPR coaching experience

* Advanced skills in presentation, communication, and influencing.

* Intermediate knowledge of Lean methodology and manufacturing techniques.

* Experience in Microsoft Windows and Teams environments. This includes demonstrated skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Intermediate skill set desired in spreadsheet and database design and management.

Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, or environmental science.

Work Experience -6 years progressive experience in EHS, preferably in an industrial environment

Other - ATC, CIH, ASP, or CSP preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to read, write legibly and understand English

* Standing for periods of time

* Dexterity: frequent fine motor movement

* Visual inspection

* Lifting up to 30 pounds

* Frequent ladder and/or stair climbing

* Dressing and operating in a clean room environment

  • Tasks frequently require prolonged mental and visual concentration

Working Conditions:

* Both indoor and outdoor work is required with exposure to all potential weather conditions.

* Handle hazardous waste and other chemicals if necessary
