Overview

The Licensed Acute Mental Health Provider provides acute mental health screening, referral, and case management services to children and adolescents within the Emergency Department.

This role is located at our Main campus in KCMO. Work days: Thursday/Friday/Saturday. Hours: 0800-0830p (Shift Differential paid for evening and overnight hours)

Responsibilities
    Rapid acute mental health screening, referral, and documentation. Respond to the Emergency Department within prescribed time frame and complete acute mental health screening of patients who have been identified to be at risk of harm to themselves or others. Upon completion of screening, complete appropriate referrals which may include inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or outpatient mental health services, and complete all associated documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration with Service Providers. Maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships with mental health service providers.
  • Demonstrate active involvement and leadership within the team, department, and hospital by regular attendance at meetings and educational opportunities, serving as a consultant for other members of the department and hospital, participation on committees, and responding to hospital and/or community requests for educational programs.
Qualifications

Master's Degree Social Work or Counseling and 3-5 years' experience. 1 year experience acceptable if incumbent holds a clinical license. Must have a social work license (LMSW/LCSW/LSCSW) or professional counseling license (LPC/LCPC) in the state of primary work location upon hire and then be dually licensed in both states within 90 days of employment. Candidates licensed with a master level social work license, must be engaged in clinical supervision.

  • One of the following Required upon hire: Licensed Master's Social Worker KS, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Specialist KS, KS Licensed Professional Counselor, KS Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
  • One of the following Required within 90 days: Licensed Master's Social Worker MO, Licensed Clinical Social Worker MO, MO Licensed Professional Counselor
Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.66/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
